BRIEF CHARACTER-ANALYTIC PSYCHOTHERAPY (P.B.C)

Focal Intervention: individual and group therapy.

We have applied the model and technique of depth therapy (Vegetotherapy) to a focal and brief psychotherapy. I systematized this model some years ago in collaboration with my colleagues of the ESTER. The model was concluded after our experience in public and private clinical intervention and has proven to be an effective alternative to psychopharmacological medication both during the actual and follow-up research.

Using psychological and neuromuscular techniques within a framework of a strong psychotherapeutic relationship between patient and therapist, the person becomes aware of his or her main characteristic dynamics and the character traits that accompany his or her body armor. These characteristic dynamics are disturbing the biophysical balance of his or her body so with our specialized intervention we reduce neuromuscular tension, respiratory inhibition and emotional blockages.

The main aim is to reduce and eliminate anxiety symptoms, anguish, phobias and some muscular and organic pains that accompany emotional and existential suffering; improving through our intervention the abilities and resources the person has to cope with reality in a better and healthier way.

The length of the treatment is determined at the beginning of the therapeutic process and in average consists of 20 weekly sessions (50 minutes each) for 5 to 6 months.

It can be combined with group therapy sessions that the person can attend during the last months of the treatment.
